About Tri Team Wigan

In Spring 2003, Dave and Cathy Green were asked by Wigan's Sport Development team to coach a number of athletes from Wigan swimming clubs for an Aquathlon at the Greater Manchester Youth Games. Following the event - Wigan won - athletes and coaches wanted to continue with the training and, in 2004, Tri Team Wigan was born. Within months four athletes, under Dave's expert guidance, were selected for the WorldClass Start squad and there are already some more talented young triathletes who look likely to join them. But Tri Team Wigan is not just for juniors; there is a healthy adult membership too, ranging from the serious competitors to the "fun runners". We may not all aspire to the Olympics but we can all get fitter and faster!
